Our team's investigation experts took part in a Virtual Asset Investigation Course that HKPF organised to bolster law enforcement against cybercrime in the city.
The VAIC session was conducted by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the HKPF from January 30 onward. The said course took place in the Hong Kong Police Headquarters. The VAIC course was also attended by representatives from the HKPF, Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), and the Customs and Excise Department (C&E).
The core objective of the VAIC course, per Binance, was to strengthen the knowledge and capability of officers in tackling and preventing cryptocurrency-related crime.
Binance’s Law Enforcement Training and Investigations teams’ experts also led a cryptocurrency investigation training session. Among the covered topics also were cryptocurrency case studies pertaining to investigation techniques. They also shared how Binance can enable criminal investigations with law enforcement agencies.
Jarek Jakubcek, Head, Law Enforcement Training, Binance, said, User security has always been Binance’s top priority, and we are fully committed to building a secure blockchain ecosystem by bolstering international cybersecurity.
Collaborations with law enforcement agencies and officials is critical and we are glad to be working alongside the Hong Kong Police Force. As Binance continues efforts to remove bad actors from the digital ecosystem, we are heartened by the collaborations we’ve fostered along the way.
In 2022, Binance also announced the Global Law Enforcement Training Program—over 70 law enforcement workshops have so far been conducted. This proves the commitment of Binance to curb digital financial and cyber crimes.
Moving forward, Binance would collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies and cyber investigative units globally. The objective would be to conduct training programs and seminars
