The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seeking a hefty $2 billion fine against Ripple Labs, as revealed in court filings. Stuart Alderoty, Ripple Labs’ chief legal officer, disclosed this on social media, indicating that redacted court documents would be unveiled by March 26. The proposed penalty includes $876 million in disgorgement, $198 million in prejudgment interest, and a $876 million civil penalty, totaling $1.95 billion.
