HK SFC Report: $2.4B in ETFs, 9 Platforms Flagged for Fraud

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has released its Q2 2024 report, highlighting key developments in the virtual asset sector. The report notes that six virtual asset spot ETFs listed in Hong Kong have reached a combined market value of HK$2.4 billion. Additionally, nine virtual asset trading platforms have been added to the SFC's warning list for suspected fraudulent activities. The report also details the SFC's efforts to enhance the virtual asset regulatory system, allowing retail investors to access regulated services, and outlines regulatory guidance to foster Hong Kong's tokenization market.
