Bitcoin ATM Growth Surged in Australia After Delayed Start

Australia’s Bitcoin ATM count has surged from 73 in September 2022 to 1,162, making it the fastest-growing market globally, according to Coin ATM Radar. Despite a crackdown in 2019 and regulatory concerns over misuse, the number of ATMs has increased significantly. Australia now ranks third in total installations, behind the U.S. and Canada. The growth follows initial setbacks, including the suspension of Auscoin’s license by AUSTRAC.
