Top 10 Meme Coins Plummet 63.7% from Peak Over the Past Year

The meme coin market has witnessed a substantial decline over the past year, with the top 10 meme coins experiencing an average drop of 63.73% from their peak values. According to data from Lookonchain, these coins have seen their values diminish significantly, reflecting the volatile nature of the cryptocurrency market.

Dogecoin (DOGE), the most well-known meme coin, has dropped by 57.93% from its peak of $0.2266 to a price of $0.0953 at press time. Despite this decline, DOGE remains one of the better-performing meme coins in comparison to others.

Shiba Inu (SHIB), another popular meme coin, has seen a steeper fall. Its price decreased by 70.86% from its peak of $0.00004534 to $0.00001325 at press time. This sharp decline indicates the challenges meme coins face in maintaining their market value.

Pepe (PEPE) has also suffered a significant loss, dropping by 58.16% from its peak price of $0.00001718 to its value of $0.000007235 at press time. Dogwifhat (WIF) experienced one of the largest drops, falling by 70.93% from $4.85 to its price of $1.41 at press time.

Meme Coin Market Cap Drops, Trading Volume Surges: DOGE and SHIB Lead

Bonk (BONK) has also experienced a downturn, with its value decreasing by 64.63% from $0.00004704 to its price of $0.00001671 at press time. Floki (FLOKI) has faced a similar fate, with its price dropping by 65.97% from $0.0003462 to $0.0001178. This decline emphasizes the overall downward trend affecting meme coins.

BRETT, another meme coin, has seen its value fall by 62.59%, from $0.1939 to $0.07281. Popcat (POPCAT) experienced the smallest decline among the top 10 meme coins, dropping by 43.77% from $0.9976 to $0.5560 at press time. Despite being the least affected, POPCAT still reflects the broader struggles of the meme coin market.

BOME has witnessed a substantial decline of 79.48% from $0.02805 to $0.005756, marking it as one of the worst-performing coins in this category. MEW, the final coin in the list, has also experienced a significant drop of 62.99%, from $0.01034 to $0.003827 at press time, further illustrating the challenges faced by meme coins over the past year.
