AI & the Future of Humanity: President Bukele & Elon Musk Converse

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele and business magnate Elon Musk recently engaged in an influential discussion on the future of humanity, focusing on advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI). During a meeting at Tesla’s Austin gigafactory, President Bukele and Musk conversed on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on global societies.

Bukele and Musk’s Mutual Recognition

Following the meeting with Musk, Bukele took to X to share his excitement about their discussion. In an X post dated September 21, Bukele wrote, “It was a pleasure to spend several hours talking with one of the great minds of our time.” The post incorporated a video clip that showcased his visit to Tesla headquarters where Musk welcomed and offered him a guided tour of the premises.

The tech billionaire reciprocated Bukele’s enthusiasm via an X post that stated, “Just had an excellent conversation with President Nayib Bukele.” He further shared insights on their topic of conversation which focused on the nature of reality, the future of humanity, and the significant role of AI and robotics in the modern world. Acknowledging Bukele as an “amazing leader,” Musk expressed his excitement for the meeting. The mutual recognition between Bukele and Musk underscores their aligned commitment to driving innovation and advancement.

Bukele visited Musk as he is currently in the United States to attend the 79th US General Assembly in New York towards the end of September. While Bukele offered Musk home-grown coffee as a token of hospitality, he received Coca-Cola in return.
