Ethereum Blob Usage Nears Limit, Requires Expansion: Vitalik

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has expressed concern over the current utilization of Ethereum's blob space, which is nearing 75% of its limit. He urged to increase the blob count from 3 to 4 per block, with a maximum of 8, through the EIP-7623 proposal. Blobs, introduced in the Dencun upgrade, are crucial for scaling the network and enhancing Layer 2 capacity. Vitalik emphasized the need for continuous efforts to push the L-2 protocols to use blobs, warning against hesitation due to market congestion. He also stressed that the decentralized expansion is vital to Ethereum's future scalability.
