86-Year-Old Lawyer Sentenced for $14M Crypto Ponzi Scheme

An 86-year-old former California attorney, David Kagel, was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay nearly $14 million after admitting to orchestrating a multimillion-dollar crypto Ponzi scheme. While currently in hospice care, Kagel lured victims with promises of high returns from a fraudulent trading bot scheme, securing approximately $15 million in investments through deceptive letters on his law firm’s letterhead.
