MicroStrategy (MSTR) founder Saylor called Bitcoin a “digital capital” during his recent 3-minute presentation to Microsoft’s Board of Directors. Saylor also mentioned it as the most important digital transformation of the 21st century. He emphasized that global wealth distribution currently faces major risks, with trillions of dollars of capital being depleted annually. According to him, BTC is a superior form of capital preservation.
Through the presentation, Saylor stated that Microsoft would have several financial advantages. He emphasized that purchasing BTC would be more beneficial than stock buybacks or holding bonds. He particularly highlighted how current bond holdings could potentially undermine Microsoft’s options market. Saylor presented a compelling case that BTC integration could add “hundreds of dollars to the stock price.”

The proposal extends beyond mere investment strategy into comprehensive technological integration. By leveraging blockchain, Microsoft could improve its position in Web3 development and infrastructure. This will strengthen its metaverse initiatives and expand cloud computing services. Besides, it could ramp up digital payment systems through blockchain.
Saylor’s model proposes converting various financial instruments into Bitcoin. These include cash flows, dividends, buybacks, and debt.
