Cardano Community Warns of Deceptive NFT Scam; Users Suffer 200k ADA Losses

The Cardano community has issued a warning today regarding a deceptive NFT scam targeting Berry Pool delegators. The scam involves the distribution of NFTs promising additional ADA rewards through a fake rewards event. Consequently, some users who fell victim to the scheme have reported losses exceeding 200,000 ADA.

The fraudulent activity centers around a misleading website associated with the scam. The Cardano community urges its members to exercise caution, emphasizing the importance of scrutinizing transaction details before signing any transactions. The deceptive scheme lures users with the promise of extra ADA rewards, exploiting their trust and leading to significant financial losses.

The warning underscores the need for vigilance in the rapidly growing cryptocurrency space, where malicious actors continually devise new methods to exploit unsuspecting users. Berry Pool delegators are particularly advised to remain vigilant and verify the legitimacy of any reward-related communications to safeguard their assets.

According to a tweet from one of the Cardano community’s members , the Berry Pool delegators received NFTs that falsely guaranteed additional ADA rewards. The deceptive rewards event was orchestrated to trick users into connecting their wallets and signing transactions. One of the users who fell prey to the scam has reported losses of over 1,60,000 ADA.

More recently, Crypto analyst Cryptorecruitr aka Gambardello explained ADA’s path to $11. The analyst also explained Ethereum’s impact in the recent market movements with data-driven insights.

Tokens were quickly exchanged for ADA using the DexHunter interface, as the DH team explained. However, the tokens have not yet been sent to a centralized exchange (CEX).

The associated website has been unequivocally identified as a scam, serving as a stark reminder of the risks posed by fraudulent schemes in the cryptocurrency landscape. Users are urged to exercise due diligence and scrutinize transaction summaries meticulously before engaging with any platform or event claiming to offer additional rewards.

The community is working to expose the details of the scammer, as shared by a vigilant Twitter user. The collaboration between community members in sharing information about potential threats is crucial in mitigating the impact of scams and ensuring a safer environment for all participants.
