Could the Surfin Bitcoin Conference Change France’s Stance on Crypto?

The cryptocurrency community is not fleeing the ship despite the recent drop in the price of Bitcoin. In Biarritz, during a conference devoted to virtual currencies called Surfin Bitcoin, there were 2,000 attendees.

Surfin Bitcoin, which took place in the southwest of France and was organized by the French Bitcoin exchange Stackin Sat, brought together Bitcoin veterans, newcomers, and “no coiners,” or people who have not yet purchased or earned cryptocurrency, in a setting that could compete with any Hollywood film set.

It’s possible that France’s anti-Bitcoin stance is beginning to shift, thanks to the grassroots and large-scale support for Bitcoin that’s been going on there.

The attendees ranged from core Bitcoin maintainers to European nobility to, of course, the CEOs of the greatest French crypto startups. The atmosphere was unmistakably French, despite the bubbly foreign influence that was there.

On the schedule, there will be several talks, seminars, and round tables, with a total of one hundred speakers, including thirty-five from other countries. These foreign speakers will include representatives from El Salvador and the Central African Republic, the only two nations in the world that have accepted bitcoin as their official currency. All of this information is organized according to four primary topics: mining and energy; finance and regulation; economics and geopolitics; and technology and tools.

In a nutshell, a symposium to explain the workings of bitcoin, its philosophy, and the potential for its future growth. In addition to this, the goal is to attempt to persuade those who are skeptical of its utility and the desire in investing in it.

Some notable figures in the industry, such as Thaddeus Dryja, the developer of the technology known as the Lightning Network, which enables payments to be made using bitcoin and is expected to make it possible for large-scale cryptocurrency transactions.
