Reportedly, as per local reports, Do Kwon is suspected to have been arrested in the Balkan nation territory on March 23. Ever since the said announcement, a local Montenegrin news outlet has confirmed the arrested individual is a South Korean national. It is also confirmed by the said outlet that the tweet in question is indeed from the Minister of the Interior of Montenegro.
Also on the basis of “photo data,” it is confirmed by yet another local news outlet that the arrested individual is Terraform Labs’ CEO Do Kwon. One of the helpers of Do Kwon, Han Mo, is also reportedly arrested in Podgorica.
As per the National Police Agency of South Korea, it is awaiting “fingerprint information” from Montenegrin authorities to verify the identities of those arrested—Do Kwon and Han Mo. In October 2022, the South Korean prosecutors had reportedly revoked the passports of Do Kwon.
South Korean prosecutors have been alleging that since December 2022, Do Kwon has been in Serbia. Serbia reportedly shares no extradition agreement with South Korea.
On September 26, 2022, reportedly an Interpol red notice to arrest Do Kwon was issued owing to his role in a $40 billion Terra Luna (LUNC) and Terra USD (USTC) ecosystem fall in May 2022. Do Kwon is reportedly wanted by South Korea, Singapore, and the U.S. based regulatory authorities.
