According to several reports, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has entered into a partnership with Ava Labs, the company that is responsible for the development of layer-1 blockchain Avalanche, in order to assist in the scaling of blockchain usage across businesses, institutions, and governments.
Emin Gun Sirer, the CEO of Ava Labs, has decided to elaborate on the factors that set Ava’s partnership with Amazon apart from those of others. Sirer pointed out that in the past, other chains have paid AWS to host certain nodes, and that AWS has marketed this arrangement as being one of “AWS’s partnerships with SomeChain.” In point of fact, SomeChain was making payments to AWS since they were a customer of AWS. According to Sirer, there was never a real collaboration.
This announcement, in his opinion, is the polar opposite of what was said. AWS is aware of how blockchains are progressing, with subnets acting as appchains, and the company is interested in being one of the hosting providers for the numerous subnets that individuals are going to establish, he said.
Emin Gun Sirer proceeded to say:
“To this end, they will be contributing substantial amounts of AWS credits to projects looking to deploy subnets on Avalanche. They, along with AliBaba, understand where the blockchain tech is going and they want to partner with the one chain that is delivering the vision.”
The collaboration also has the goal of making it less difficult for people to establish and operate nodes on Avalanche, while simultaneously working toward the goal of providing the network with greater strength and flexibility for developers.
