Hamster Kombat’s $HMSTR Airdrop: Is it a Boon or Bane?

Hamster Kombat, which rose to fame in March, has now become the subject of speculation and scrutiny in the eyes of its users. The platform is a tap-to-earn (T2E) crypto game on Telegram and the largest mini-game on the TON Network. 

As players increased, the platform announced an airdrop of its $HMSTR token on September 26. This airdrop is said to be the second-largest event after Notcoin. The tokens will be listed on Binance Launchpool. According to an official statement from the Binance platform, users can use their BNB or their FDUSD to receive their tokens. 

However, prior to the launch, many players have criticized the gaming platform for not keeping its promise. They accused the platform of compromising on the allocation of its tokens. Over 60%, which is roughly about 60 million tokens, were allocated for the airdrop. However, despite the scale, many stated that most of the tokens had been given away to influencers and social media celebrities to bring in more referrals. This raised concern among the members, who have spent their time and effort on the platform to attain the tokens.

On Monday, the platform’s creators revealed in an X post that the airdrop for Season 1 will be given to 43% of the player base, which is about 131 million players. Further, about 2.3 million members were banned as cheaters. 

The platform also revealed that 75% of the 100B tokens will be reserved for the community. With the 60% airdrop, users will get 88.75 immediately during the launch, while 11.25% will be vested for ten months. Also, an additional 15% of $HMSTR tokens will be airdropped during the game’s second season.

Hamster is said to possess over 300 million total accounts. Of these, 32M are active daily, and 82M are operated monthly. The platform garnered the attention of its players by providing a seamless and engaging experience without the need for any additional applications.
