Quant Founder Talks TradFi and DeFi At 2022 CordaCon Event

Gilbert Verdian, the founder and CEO of Quant Network, gave a presentation regarding TradFi and DeFi at the CordaCon Event that took place in London last month. His focus was mostly on the benefits that TradFi would get as a result of embracing DeFi.

When questioned what the potential benefits of that may be, the blockchain expert responded by saying that it simply has the potential to assist in their expansion. They have the opportunity to interact with new consumers, which might lead to a more organic development of technology.

He is of the belief that TradFi will be able to acquire new efficiencies if securities and other instruments are converted into digital assets. According to him, this is a “win-win” situation for institutions, exchanges, and consumers.

Verdian said that they would have to wait for the market to develop before they could understand how to control it. This is because there is a need for the markets to be safe and customers to be safeguarded. He went on to say that now that the industry had expanded, DeFi had shown to be an excellent learning curve and demonstrated what was feasible.

In his words:

“The regulators now understand it and are taking the right approach by letting the markets decide what is appropriate and then, regulating against that. Now the market is waiting for the rules to come in, so that they can treat it [new digital securities] just like any other asset class.”

Finally, Verdian said that the monetary system is also undergoing change, and that digital assets are a mechanism that will assist it in evolving to fit our requirements during the next ten to fifteen years.
