Polymarket Uses Chainlink Oracles to Boost Market Integrity

- Polymarket integrates Chainlink oracles for accurate and reliable price predictions.
- Chainlink oracles enable faster, near-instant settlements for price prediction markets.
- The integration boosts transparency, thus minimizing disputes in prediction market results.
Polymarket has partnered with Chainlink to integrate decentralized oracles into its prediction market resolution process. This collaboration aims to lower manipulation risks, speed up resolutions, and increase transparency for price-based betting.
The integration, which is already live on the Polygon mainnet, uses Chainlink Data Streams and Automation to provide near-instant settlement for asset pricing markets, allowing prediction outcomes, such as crypto asset price bets, to resolve automatically and securely once preset conditions are met. According to the announcement, Polymarket can now create real-time markets across hundreds of supported crypto trading pairs.
Sharing more about the collaboration, Sergey Nazarov, Co-Founder of Chainlink, stated that the decision of Polymarket to integrate Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure will be a pivotal milestone and will greatly enhance how prediction markets are created and settled,” said
Chainlink Oracles Deliver Faster, Verifiable Price Resolutions
The combined system of Chainlink Data Streams and Chainlink Automation enables low-latency, timestamped reports with automated settlement. This design minimizes the window for tampering and boosts trust in results. Market resolutions can now be finalized instantly, eliminating the delays that formerly frustrated users.
Chainlink’s decentralized infrastructure, securing nearly $100 billion in DeFi, adds credibility. It also uses enterprise-grade node operators to prevent failures and ensure reliable data delivery.
Nazarov added that as market outcomes are resolved by high-quality data and tamper-proof computation via oracle networks, prediction markets become a reliable and real-time signal that the world can trust. Moreover, by relying on verified external data, Polymarket minimizes subjective decisions and social voting mechanisms, both of which have created disputes in past markets.
Polymarket Tackles Risks in Prediction Market Settlements
Polymarket has been reworking its resolution stack to improve market outcomes, transitioning from the previous Optimistic Oracle V2 to UMA’s Managed Optimistic Oracle V2. This upgrade whitelisted resolution proposals, minimizing disputed outcomes and improving market fairness.
The integration of Chainlink’s oracle technology directly addresses issues such as governance attacks and reliance on social voting. By sourcing deterministic, auditable inputs for asset prices, Polymarket now ensures that outcomes are based on verifiable data rather than subjective interpretations.
Polymarket noted that this shift aims to “minimize resolution risk and eliminate reliance on subjective mechanisms,” grounding all market outcomes in cryptographic truth. The initial focus remains on crypto asset pricing. However, both firms confirmed they are exploring methods to extend the technology to more “subjective” markets in the future.

Future of Chainlink and Polymarket in Price-Based Bets
Since its launch, Polymarket has grown rapidly to become one of the largest on-chain prediction venues. Earlier this year, it acquired CFTC-licensed clearinghouse QCEX to expand to the U.S. and also partnered with X to deliver integrated market data and insights to users.
Polygon focuses on faster, cheaper transactions off Ethereum, while Chainlink will provide data to settle Polymarket’s markets on the Polygon chain. Industry analysts say this integration could restore trust.
On the market side, with Polymarket using the Polygon blockchain as its base network, the integration with Chainlink will enhance the platform’s infrastructure, thus enabling faster and more secure market settlements. If successful, this collaboration could be a model for how decentralized Oracle networks can be applied to prediction use cases.
The partnership combines Polymarket’s market design with Chainlink’s secure oracle infrastructure, a step towards more credible, efficient, and tamper-proof prediction markets. However, it is still unclear whether the approach extends to subjective outcomes, but the integration is a milestone in the industry’s push towards trustworthy, on-chain truth.
