The Near Foundation recently disclosed a strategic partnership with WEMADE, a prominent gaming company in South Korea with a public listing. WEMADE, a leading game developer with over two decades of experience in South Korea, is set to play a crucial role in Near’s endeavor to bring Web3 to mainstream audiences.
The collaboration between Near and WEMADE will facilitate the growth of blockchain applications in Korea and beyond. Both parties are committed to increasing mutual brand recognition and exploring various Web3 community events and business prospects.
Shane Kim, CEO of WEMIX and Vice President of WEMADE, remarked on the partnership:
WEMADE and Near share a common goal of fostering mainstream adoption of blockchain technology, unlocking a future of boundless potential and benefits in numerous aspects of our daily lives.
“To realize this vision, we must streamline the process for developers to integrate off-chain applications, organizations, and startups, and we believe that Near is perfectly suited to accomplish this,” Kim added.
Integrating End Users and Developers into the Web3 Ecosystem
This partnership aims to entice developers, including game designers, to build on the Near platform. In addition to co-hosting community events such as offline hackathons and boot camps, Near and WEMADE will collaborate on raising mutual brand awareness, investing in research, exploring cross-chain initiatives, and identifying potential Web3 business opportunities and founders.
Marieke Flament, CEO of the Near Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to partner with WEMADE as we work together towards a decentralized future for the gaming industry. By combining our efforts, we are confident in our capacity to expedite the development of innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of gamers and developers in the Web3 realm.”
The partnership between Near and WEMADE signifies the second major Web3 gaming collaboration facilitated by the Near Korea Hub. The first collaboration, formed with BORA, the Web3 GameFi platform of Kakao Games, is expected to play a significant role in accelerating the mainstream adoption of Web3 technology.
