Ripple Partners with Global Nonprofits to Revolutionize Humanitarian Aid

- Ripple partners with global NGOs to speed up humanitarian aid using blockchain.
- World Central Kitchen and Water.org adopt Ripple Payments for relief operations.
- Mercy Corps pilots Ripple’s RLUSD for cash transfers and financial inclusion.
Ripple made a groundbreaking announcement about an essential partnership with well-known global nonprofit organizations to accelerate humanitarian aid delivery through blockchain. World Central Kitchen, Water.org, GiveDirectly, and Mercy Corps are welcoming Ripple Payments as a compatible option. Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin allows them to transfer money more quickly, transparently, and with fewer fees.
Since nonprofits frequently encounter challenges with cross-border fund transfers, Ripple Payments offers a solution. It allows for money transfers that are completed in seconds and function every day of the year. It removes the need for banks and enables direct digital transfers without third-party control or delays in managing crypto assets.
The RLUSD stablecoin is backed by the U.S. dollar, ensuring reliability and predictable value. In combination with Ripple Payments, it enables companies to send help quickly and more cheaply. With such an option, the possibilities of transparent transactions and competent money tracking increase.
World Central Kitchen (WCK) Scales Relief with Ripple Tech
World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a non-profit organization led by Chef Jose Andres and is increasing its adoption of Ripple technology. Since 2020, the organization has provided millions of meals with the help of funding from Ripple. WCK currently relies on Ripple Payments and RLUSD to accelerate the process of issuing money to local restaurants and suppliers.
World Central Kitchen focuses on quick response and real-time adaptation. Its teams have delivered over 500 million meals to disaster-afflicted people around the world. Through the incorporation of the Ripple platform, WCK enhances accountability and speed of delivery.
Water.org Expands Global Impact with Ripple Payments
Water.org, co-founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, also uses Ripple Payments. The organization first tested the platform in Brazil, Mexico, and Peru. After a successful pilot, it plans to route all Latin American transactions through Ripple. Water.org is also exploring expansion into Africa and Asia to enhance its global water and sanitation projects.
Ripple Payments helps Water.org send funds quickly to its microfinance partners. This reduces transfer time and operational costs while supporting loans for safe water and sanitation. Over 81 million people have already benefited from Water.org’s initiatives.
Mercy Corps and Ripple Trial Blockchain-Based Relief Tools
Ripple is also exploring RLUSD pilots focused on parametric insurance for the unbanked and cash transfer solutions for underserved communities. Such solutions are being tested by Mercy Corps Ventures in Kenya. Other pilots like these are being considered with GiveDirectly to empower aid systems in disadvantaged areas.
Mercy Corps employs approximately 4,300 humanitarian workers. The majority of these are located in their country of operation. Their partnership with Ripple is to prove how stablecoins could provide financial tools to individuals locked out of conventional systems.

Ripple Enters Africa with Strategic Absa Bank Partnership
On Oct 15, Ripple entered a strategic partnership with Absa Bank, one of South Africa’s largest financial institutions. The agreement enables Absa to integrate Ripple’s institutional-grade digital asset custody technology.
The partnership allows the bank to offer secure and scalable storage for tokenized assets, including cryptocurrencies. It marks Ripple’s first major custody partnership in Africa and expands its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing fintech regions.
Stablecoins like RLUSD are emerging as practical tools for global aid and remittances. They reduce costs, shorten transaction times, and improve transparency. This increases the amount of aid reaching beneficiaries directly. RLUSD crossed the $900 million mark within a year of launch.
Ripple’s bigger picture is to make the financial network more inclusive. It helps organizations provide relief with a quicker, more efficient response time by combining blockchain with stablecoins.
