Sota Watanabe, Founder, Astar Network, says, Needless to say, Toyota is the largest company in Japan and one of the world’s leading international companies. We are very excited to be hosting the web3 Hackathon on Astar with Toyota.
During the event, we aim to develop the first PoC DAO tool for Toyota’s employees. If a good tool is produced, Toyota employees will interact daily with products on Astar Network.
Sometime in the future, I think we will see blockchain integrations in cars. Today, we are still in the exploratory stage, but very excited about the various possibilities.
In a blog post, Astar Foundation recently announced its very first web3 hackathon on Astar. Sharing the details, Astar Network tweeted:

Astar Network states it is looking to build Kaizen culture via a DAO. Developing DAO tools to enhance company operations and empower individual employees, the hackathon will have $100K in prizes to win.
Astar Network is forming partnerships with various Japanese enterprises and governments. By collaborating with Polkadot and Alchemy Platform, Astar is enabling web3 globally.
While Astar Foundation sponsors the hackathon with $75,000, web3 Foundation adds another $25000. The total $100,000 reward pool would form the total reward pool for winning projects that Toyota, Astar Foundation, web3 Foundation, Alchemy, and HAKUHODO KEY3 select.
Toyota’s first ever web3 hackathon aims to enhance its vision of improving its operations. The Astar Network hackathon in question has “Development of a DAO support tool for in-house projects” as its theme.
