Manchester City Kicks Off Virtual Play with OKX Metaverse Partnership

Premier League Champions Manchester City has partnered with OKX, its cryptocurrency partner to kick off a new metaverse project. The immersive fan experience called “Train Like Dias” will be the first metaverse project between Manchester City and OKX.

The project will allow fans to enter the digital world and gain virtual insights into the training regime of Manchester City center-back Rúben Dias. Train Like Dias will enable fans to follow some of Dias’ favorite training techniques and benefit from his coaching and performance tips in the OKX Collective metaverse.

Alex Greenwood, Ilkay Gündoğan, Jack Grealish, and Dias, who are all recently appointed as OKX ambassadors, will provide fans with exclusive training content and music and NFT-based digital experiences within the metaverse. In addition, fans can participate in competitions to win exciting prizes, including passes to team training, match tickets, and much more.

According to Haider Rafique, the Global Chief Marketing Officer at OKX, the possibilities that Web3 offers are vast and only limited by our own imaginations. He also noted that the way “Train Like Dias” brings Rúben and his fans closer together is another great example of what this technology allows.

The partnership between Manchester City and OKX started last summer before the 2022-23 Premier League season commenced. The cryptocurrency partner became the official training kit sponsor for the current Premier League champions.

Through the OKX Collective, Manchester City will be able to engage with fans across the globe, giving them a glimpse of the club’s players’ personal interests and playing styles.

Fans who visit the OKX Collective will be treated to special experiences designed around each player, in addition to exclusive training content, music, and NFT-based digital experiences.
