The introduction of Bury 2.0 staking lets users lock SHIB, BONE, LEASH, or TREAT tokens to earn voting escrow (VE) power. According to the official Shiba Inu X account, “Stake SHIB, BONE, LEASH, or TREAT to gain influence. The more & longer you stake, the more voting power you earn.” This incentivizes long-term commitment by rewarding longer staking durations with greater voting weight.
Moreover, the Snapshot platform enables off-chain voting without the need to pay high gas fees. This lowers barriers and permits more participants to engage in decision-making processes. Snapshot also uses real-time staking data to accurately calculate votes. For users who are not able to cast a vote on all proposals, ShibDAO offers vote delegation, allowing them to give voting rights to trusted individuals.
