Starbucks Brews Up a New NFT Collection as Nike Gets Ready to Sell First NFT Sneaker

Starbucks, the American multinational coffee shop company announced that it would debut its First Store Collection NFT series on the Polygon network on April 19, 2023. The series would consist of 5,000 pieces, each of which would cost $100 and be available for purchase.

In addition to the NFT, purchasers would also get 1,500 reward points that could be redeemed via the Starbucks Odyssey app. Launched in December 2022, Starbucks Odyssey has issued six NFTs so far, with a current floor price of $68.

Notably, the upcoming First Store Collection pays homage to the company’s first store at Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Each NFT, also referred to as a stamp, costs $100 and earns users 1,500 points towards rewards. It is reasonable to assume that the new collection would be snapped up very fast given the success of prior Starbucks NFT launches.

In related news, sports brand Nike is preparing for the public sale of its first virtual sneaker NFT series, “Our Force 1 (OF1),” on its Web3 platform .Swoosh. Scheduled for May 10, each NFT would be priced at $19.82. To date, the company has generated approximately $200 million in revenue from NFT sales. In anticipation of the upcoming OF1 collection, Nike plans to conduct a .SWOOSH airdrop.

The OF1 Poster collection, consisting of four virtual posters, would be airdropped to commemorate the .SWOOSH community’s participation in the OF1 challenge. These posters take their design cues from the original advertising campaigns that were instrumental in Air Force 1’s rise to fame as a famous footwear.
