StaTwig Leveraging Polygon to Aid Women and Children in Rural India

Indian blockchain firm StaTwig is using the Polygon network and collaborating closely with Telangana’s (India) Women Development and Child Welfare Department (WCDT) to help better the lives of women and children in rural areas via the government organization’s outreach program.

Improving Supply Chains

According to a string of tweets from the Polygon network, the WCDT is using StaTwig’s supply chain management platform, WCW Ledger, which is built on top of the Polygon network, to guarantee complete transparency and traceability across the entire outreach program.

All aspects of women’s and children’s development are at the heart of the WCDT. To achieve this goal, they have implemented a massive outreach program dubbed the Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS).

Women and children in rural areas are typically denied access to resources like re-school non-formal education, supplementary nutrition, vaccinations, health checks, and referral services; therefore, this program aims to change that.

Polygon reports that there are 2.5 million pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children 0-6 years old registered with the program at the state’s 35,700 centers. Through a single app, WCWLedger links together all the participants in the supply chain at every stage.

Polygon added:

Redefining Supply Chain Management in India

The influence of StaTwig in India is already being felt. Tech Mahindra, an Indian IT services firm, teamed with StaTwig last year to use blockchain for managing the traceability of the world’s vaccination supply. The VaccineLedger solution seeks to avoid issues like expired vaccines by increasing supply chain transparency and combating counterfeiting.

Furthermore, StaTwig is also recognized as a World Economic Forum Global Innovator and is included in the UNICEF Innovation Fund Portfolio.
